Gretchen, I miss the old days of long conversations with you and Bob. Since I have gotten married, my wife and I have suffered a lot of outside legal problems and some additional financial setbacks that followed. I have almost no free time anymore in order to try to pay a mountain of bills. If I ever find some time, would love to pay you a visit. In the meantime, if possible, is there a way I can say some sort of final farewell to Bob before I meet him in the air, by visiting his burial site? I have no idea where this might be.
As for keeping your kids and grandkids in prayer, I will, in addition to you and the ministry, of course.
And as for Calvinism, it is still doing very well :-)
: I was sorry to have to answer your Christmas card, Richard, with notice of Bob's death, but I knew you would want to know. I'm sure Bob is involved in a whole variety of wonderful conversations with some of his favorite people, none of whom are still Calvinists ;o), but who now know the truth of God's gracious love.
: He did leave a huge legacy, and as we at Answers In Action commit ourselves to fulfilling that legacy over the coming years, we pray that God will strengthen and equip us to reach ever more people with the truth of the gospel and the power of his resurrection.
: Please keep us in your prayers.
: BTW, our second grandchild was born Sunday, January 4. Nicholas Dante joins his sister Grace Isabella with parents Mary and Bill in Oregon. Thankfully, our other daughter, Karen, was there to help care for Grace during the birth and to provide care and support afteward. Pray for Karen who has taken a third week of time off without pay (one week for her Dad's death and now two weeks for her little niece and nephew) to help her family.
: : I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I am happy for him, to know that he is in a better place, but sad for us, those of us who knew him. I had hoped he could have met my wife and daughter, but such a meeting was never meant to be.
: : I have missed our friendly conversations on religion and philosophy, and our friendly debates on Calvinism. He left a huge legacy. My prayers are with you, Gretchen, and your children and their families. So, Mary has a child and one on the way...Wow! How time flies.
: : God bless, Richard
