Wayne, remember the times you and Bob double-teamed at the Whole Life Expo in San Francisco (the largest New Age Fair in the world at the time) -- sharing the gospel with so many spiritually hungry people? One of the things Bob and I have always admired about you is your willingness -- eagerness -- to interact with people of opposing faiths personally, respectfully, and vigorously. You are a rare academic who actually goes out into the field and enjoys the harvest, not simply reporting on it. Thank you for your kind words.
: My first contact with Bob was when he and Gretchen asked me in the late 80s to debate Dave Hunt. Ever since that time whenever I have thought of Bob Passantino the words energy, passion, laughter, and genius have come to mind. To be in his presence was to experience someone who loved people and loved to talk ideas. His jovial manner always put me at ease. I had fun arguing with him and it always ended in enlightenment and a growing friendship. He was always eager to help when I had needs. I talked to him just a couple of days before his death, needing some assistance on a project. He went right to the task and got me the information I needed. He was a true servant of God and a servant to his friends.
: When I look through all of the email messages regarding Bob, it became clear the type of impact he had in his life on so many people like me. Any of us who can carry such a positive legacy like Bob into the presence of Jesus will be blessed immeasurably. I will miss our many times together but know that he now enjoys fellowship with other believers and the Lord Jesus until such time as we can join him. He now has a great advantage over me on many doctrines we discussed, so that he knows the truth clearly while I still seek to understand through a midst. I thank God for the life of Bob Passantino, and continue to pray for Gretchen and their children. I will deeply miss Bob!
