Thank you so much for your sympathy and kind words. As I sit here with a table covered with Christmas cookies, wrapping paper, theology texts, and commentaries, the busyness of the season and the needs of the ministry do a pretty good job of masking the great loss we are experiencing. Scarcely a moment goes by that I don't start to call out to Bob about and idea running through my head, or peer over my reading glasses to see if he's following the argument I'm reviewing, or even just longing to share a moment of laughter or love for our children. And yet I know without a doubt exactly where he is -- in our Father's loving arms -- and what he is doing -- catching up on all the conversations he longed to have with Paul, Anselm, Aquinas, Descartes, Hodge, Buswell, etc., not to mention our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My prayer is that we who are left (our family, Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers) will rise to the challenge and continue, even expand, the ministry Bob so loved.

So the next time you get the urge to call Bob with a question, go right ahead. It won't be Bob who will answer, but it will be me or someone else so "infected" with Bob's mind that we eagerly "contaminate" anyone we can.

Blessings in Christ,

: Dear Grethchen and the Passintino family,
: I was saddened to hear the news about Bob. He was always so helpful to me whenever I called Answers In Actions in need of advice and theological perspective. Bob always made time for me to thoroughly answer my questions and to encourage me in my own ministry.
: I'm sure there are countless others like myself who had called Bob on the phone from time to time to have him so generously give of his time, his wisdom, and, of course, his humor. He will surely be missed, but never forgotten--especially by this young minister and little brother in Christ.
: My condolences to you all and thanks for allowing Bob to give of himself for Christ and others these past three decades in Christian service. He could not have done it without all of you, especially you Gretchen. I thank God for Bob,you, and your family(cf.,Rom.1:8).
: With much affection,
: Pastor Bruce De Soto
