Thank you for praying for me. I need it, not only as I work through this season of loss and mourning, but also as I continue on the frontlines of apologetics. Bob and I used to discuss that any person exists for exactly the number of moment God wants him to -- no more, no less -- and that we are responsible for that time he has allotted to us. Perhaps one of the reasons Bob always talked so fast and slept so little was because he was cramming a long lifetime's worth of living into half that amount.
I remember with fondness his joking way of saying, "If I can't convince you I'm right, I can at least wear you out!" I can just imagine him in heaven now with so many of the saints he admired through their books but who went to be with the Lord long before Bob. No naps for Bob's heroes of the faith now that Bob's on deck!
Sincerely in Christ,
: I have had the privilege of hearing Bob speak on a number of occasions, and I can honestly say that Bob (and Gretchen!) was one of the most intelligent, dynamic speakers I have ever encountered. He was a man of great humor, love, wit, and kindness, and I am only sorry that he is no longer here to share those gifts with us.
: Gretchen, you will be in my prayers.
