I am going to miss joking with you about all our childhood and remembering our past growing up. Remember when we were kids living at home when you threw a tin can at me and cut the bridge of my nose and the time you bit my leg because I wouldn't let you play four square? And you said that you were sorry afterwards and that I was always your favorite sister. (inside family joke)
Then you grew up and helped me out one day by babysitting Jimmy so I could take mom to see Johnny Carson. You were 15 years old and Jimmy was 1, still in diapers. When I came home, I will never forget checking on Jimmy and finding him still in the same clothes and diaper I left him in. You had a new diaper on top of his wet clothes with another set of clothes on top of that! (You didn't take off his wet clothes to change his diaper) I asked him, "Why did you do this?" You said, "I did what you said, I put a clean diaper and clothes on him just like you said." You were always thinking, Robert. You made me and mom laugh for hours...
You were the one who always thought of me when listening to music. I will cherish every CD you have ever made me. Even the last time I saw you, you had another CD for me to listen to. Thanks! I will also miss the phone calls and long conversations we would always have.
I will miss all the holidays with you, especially Christmas at my house. Every year the whole family would be waiting and waiting for you, Gretchen, Mary, Karen and Paul and making phone call after phone call to you trying to get you to come open presents so we all can have dessert. You were always late! Your giving heart poured out to so many people on Christmas Day and all year long, there just wasn't enough of you to go around. But you always made time for us. Your extended family will never know what kind of real brother you were to me. I will always love you....
I will really really miss you Robert. I know Daddy and God are taking care of you now.
Love forever your favorite sister,
