We received the phone call this morning telling us of Robert's home going. We are surprised and grieved because of our love for Robert, but are blessed that Heaven is that much more dear now that he is there.
Robert and I grew up on Euclid Ave. in Garden Grove and shared our school years together. We went to elementary through high school together. It was during our last years of high school that we started working at Knott's Berry Farm together. It was there that we met Gene Kirby, our supervisor, who shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with us. After spending many hours in Bible study with Gene, we both bowed our knees before our Savior and received Him as our Lord in August of 1970, in Gene's living room.
Even though we have gone into separate ministries over the years, we have always remained in contact with Robert and Gretchen. We will miss him greatly.
Our prayers are with Gretchen and their children that they will recieve the grace, comfort and stength of the Lord in the days to come.
We are reminded of I Thess. 4:13-14, "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethen, concerning them which are asleep that ye sorrow not even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."
We look forward to a glorious reunion with Robert in Heaven at the feet of our Lord.
